The book of short stories by the winner of international awards, Kharkov writer Andrey Krasnyashchikh, was written under Russian bombs falling on Kharkiv and then in neighboring Poltava, where there are more migrants than local residents. Seen, heard, experienced, the history of everyday wartime. One of the heroines of the stories is the ten-year-old daughter of the writer, whose school essay "How my life changed with the advent of the war" formulates the main theme of the entire book. The narrator describes how the war changed everything and everything: himself, his daughter, who suddenly grew up, turned from a child into a teenager, habits, feelings, the attitude of people towards each other, which became more caring and protective.
