Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. This volume is intended to help those who are called upon to preach and teach, and on this account the material is set/out largely in outline form. It is a great satisfaction to know that a former book, The Apostle Peter, covering his life and writings, has been found of service to fellow-workers. I hope the present work will be similarly useful, and will also provide an intro duction to the larger books included in the Bibliography, all of which, though often varying greatly in their attitude to Scripture and in their spiritual teaching, have been consulted or other wise used in the preparation of The Apostle John.
