Teaching Methods and English Language

Proficiency in English language skills helps in daily routine life. English is an international language and serves as a window on the world. In our country Pakistan English is now become a compulsory language from class I to higher level.it is a language of Government, business, technology and law. English language has become a status symbol. Everyone tries his level best to get knowledge of English. The demand for English language learning in Pakistan is growing, as public perception increases that proficiency in English language is a requisite for getting jobs and self-expression. Therefore, in this book different teaching methods are described with detail but special focus is given on communicative language teaching and grammar translation method of teaching English. These two methods are most commonly used in English language teaching learning process. Grammar Translation Method is old while Communicative Language Teaching is new method of teaching English. Different skills of English language like listening, speaking, reading, and writing are also described in this book.
