Compendium of Social Statistics and Indicators

This is the sixth issue of the compendium which contains a range of social and demographic statistics relating to the countries of the Western Asia region, mainly derived from national sources and reports on the Millennium Development Goals, as well as from UN agencies. This data provides an insight into the region's socio-economic development under the following sections; poverty and hunger; universal primary education; gender equality and women's empowerment; child mortality; maternal health; HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases; and other indicators regarding population growth, unemployment rates; and use of ICT.
