This booklet is a quick but thoughtful guide to jump into the Internet of Things (IoT), covering important subjects such as Fundamentals of IoT, IoT Architecture, IoT System Building Blocks, IoT Data Analytics, IoT Supporting Services, and Case Studies, as well as IoT cloud platforms and their most used protocols, featuring lots of hands-on examples. The lessons and examples are heavily focused on IoT architecture, IoT project levels, and a widely used hardware platform to develop a wide range of IoT applications. The Arduino and Raspberry Pi are used as well.This book is in active development by an academician, acknowledging that the Internet of Things of the future will be built on top of scalable and mature protocols, such as IPv6, 6LoWPAN and IEEE 802.15.4. This book is written for educational programs at colleges and universities, and for IoT vendors and service providers who may be interested in offering a broader perspective of the Internet of Things to accompany their own customer and developer training programs.
