"You can't cut breaks"

The focus of this research work is the question of how the participants of the wertstatt symposium perceive the exchange on site and what learning character is inherent in the break times. The aim is to reconstruct the different perspectives of the participants with regard to the exchange processes at wertstatt. In order to gain a deeper insight into the topic, Grounded Theory was chosen as the research style. In this way it could be shown that the framework conditions have a significant influence on the exchange processes on site. On the one hand, the targeted promotion of self-determined learning enables an individual fulfilment of needs, on the other hand, boundary management is made more difficult. The danger of the functionalisation of breaks in favour of productivity becomes clear.
