Development Effectiveness Report 2017

In 2017, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) changed its reporting of new projects from approvals to the commitment of funds which are more closely aligned with the resources made available for development purposes. Commitments of ADB's Private Sector Operations Department reached a record level in 2017. This funding will help unlock private sector investments and expertise which are necessary for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals of eradicating poverty and expanding opportunities for all in a sustainable way. It also supports the Paris Agreement on Climate Change by financing climate change mitigation and adaptation activities.
