case study in librarianship

Case study method has been used to develop investigation mostly of descriptive treatment. Poor exploitation of this method is observed as a means to gain knowledge of general problems or to establish a more refined theory. From this point of view, the present document is arguing for the use of the mentioned method in an instrumental fashion. Examples are presented related of investigation in the area of digital library, information policies and bibliographic organization.
