»Heimat and the Economy. A Historical Contextualization of the Interdependency Between a Viable Heimat Concept and Sustainable Economic Activity«

This study presents a multidimensional and holistic conceptualization of the German concept Heimat from an economic perspective. Based on historical analysis, it serves as a theoretical foundation for sustainable economic approaches which strongly take into account people's attachment to Heimat. Furthermore, Heimat-related economic approaches are presented as alternatives to a globalized economy and the excess abundance characteristic of affluent society.
